After a very successful event in 2016, we return to St Albans on 29th / 30th April for stage three of this year’s UKBGF Tour, and a packed weekend of backgammon.
The UK Backgammon Federation
I am delighted to announce that the 2017 London Open backgammon tournament will take place from 26th-28th May at Henrietta Barnett School in Hampstead Garden Suburb, London NW11. The M1 is just 10 minutes away by car, and there is free on street parking readily available in the area. So with good public transport links nearby (Golders Green station is less than 15 minutes by tube from Euston and is also a stop on the air coach links from Stansted and Luton) everyone should find it easy to get to, whatever their means of transport.
We’re delighted to announce the schedule for the UKBGF Tour 2017, which you can find here. After a number of this year’s events were fully subscribed and with waiting lists for places, we’ve got a bigger schedule this time that also takes us to four more destinations across the country: Bradford, Winchester, Newcastle and Worcester. Do register early and make sure you don’t miss out on the ones you want!
Many thanks to the 42 people who took the time to respond to our Tour survey – the schedule for 2017 is not far away from being announced and it’s been helpful to hear so many opinions. Let’s take a look:
As the 2016 UK Tour draws to a close with the final instalment in Manchester next weekend (note – one place still available if you move fast!), and we draw up the rules for 2017, I thought I’d take a look at the experience of 2016 and invite as many opinions as possible to make the 2017 bigger and better. The “bigger” part is already in hand as we will definitely have more events – we’re delighted to have Worcester, West Yorkshire and Winchester on board for next time… and to try to achieve the “better” we’re putting out a survey and we hope you’ll take the time to give us your feedback.
