Backgammon London, with the support of the UKBGF and notably renowned Tournament Director Arda Findikoglu are presenting this month:
May 29th-31st: The London Open
A 3-day feast including a Main Double Eliminator, a Consolation Double Eliminator, and a Last Chance. This event offers 3 amazing entry levels to UKBGF members who receive a £5 reduction from the normal entry fee (as with all our events):
- £10 for all as a Social entry
- £20 for chance to win one of 6 Erhan Boards – including a bespoke tournament board for the Main Winner, with new metal rimmed checkers.
- £20 for all the above, plus side-pools on offer with 100% returns.
Note the current prize pool already stands at approximately £3,000!
This will be by far and away the single largest UK Online event – and all matches are of course part of the UKBGF Online Ratings.
All the events have video links and links for details and, of course, in all instances please just email David and Andrew on firstname.lastname@example.org if needed.
If you wish to see the full video tune into the Oscars, or this link.
The UK Legends Invitational: 25th May – 11th June
The UK Elites Online Open: 26th May – 12th June
In addition, Backgammon London are partnering our dear friend and TD extraordinaire, Arda Findikoglu, in providing all UKBGF Members an opportunity to pit your wits against the great and the good from all over the World in two further events, running over 3 weeks, either side of the London Open weekend. There are two separate events, with differing entry levels, and you can even enter both!!
Last year we had Giants of the game such as Mochy, Victor Ashkenazi & Neil Kazaross join us in the Legends event.
A wonderful, and unique, opportunity to share the board with players you may never get to play against live, in an event run to exacting standards and with integrity beyond reproach!
Both tournaments: play one round every 2 days, at times to suit yourself and your opponent, in a double-knockout format (that is, you have two lives). Legends play fifteen-point matches, with £175 entry fee, and Elites play thirteen-point matches, with a £55 entry fee.
This will undeniably be the finest month of backgammon seen on these shores, with players represented globally – we hope you will want to share in this “May Bonanza” with us.
