The Intermediate section of the tour finally got off to a bang with the London Open and we have our first TWI Intermediate qualifier.
Congratulations to Richard Halvorsen – London Open 2018 Intermediate Champion.
Here is the current state of play after the London Open:
And the top 20 intermediate standings:
Very early days but Ana Mancino deserves special mention for her two quarter finals at West Yorkshire (Main) and London (Intermediate) putting her in a strong 2nd place. The UK Open is the next Intermediate event but you can still score from Blackpool, Cambridge and Liverpool before then.
On to the Masters Division which is now 1/3 of the way through the season.
Tim Cross is currently making a mockery of the idea that Backgammon is supposed to be tough! With 1 win and 3 finals from 3 his lead is becoming unsurmountable. Maybe the challenge of beating last years tour winning score will keep him focused?
Congratualtions to our latest qualifiers:
- Tim Cross – Newcastle Open Winner
- Aref Alipour – St Albans Open Winner
- John Wright – London Open Winner
Here are the current qualifiers:
The top 20 Masters Division Tour Standings:
Still 12 places to battle for and the next stage is Blackpool, 8th-10th June.
