We announced the UK Clubs Championships recently, and already demand for that has proved very strong with 12 teams already registered – if you want your club to be represented then do sign up promptly! At the time we also said there would be an individual event the day before, for those who want to make a full weekend of it.
The UK Clubs Championship Individual Event will take place on Saturday 10th August 2019. There will be two flights, Masters and Intermediates (for players with UKBGF rating below 1600, and others subject to the organisers’ discretion). Each is restricted to 32 players.
When: Saturday 10th August, 2019
Entry is limited to 64 players, 32 in each division, and places will be issued on a first come, first served basis. UKBGF rules will be adhered to, including legal plays (rule 4.2(iii)). All matches are to be played on Derwent College premises.

Entry Fees: Registration fee £20, Entry fee £40. 100% of entry money will be paid out as prizes.

Format
On the Saturday there will be a knockout tournament of 7 point matches (semi-final & final to 9 points) with consolation (7 points) and Last Chance (5 points). All games in the main quarter finals onwards will use clocks, otherwise clock preference applies.
1st and 2nd round losers will be eligible to play in the consolation event.
Optional prize pools of £10, £20 & £50 will be available for the Main Masters flight. You can enter one or two pools, either the £10 & £20 or the £20 & £50. In the Intermediate flight there will be an optional pool of £10 only.
Both flights: Consolation and Last Chance optional pools of £5. Pool money will be split 2/3 to winner of pool, 1/3 to runner up.
There will be cash prizes for the winners & runners up of the Main, Consolation and Last Chance and the semi-finals of the Main & Consolation. There will also be trophies for the winners & runners up of the Masters & Intermediate events.
For the Intermediate flight only, the winner & runner up of the main, consolation and last chance will earn a special prize of two free lessons (via Skype) with a Grandmaster, provided they are UKBGF members on 31st July 2019.
Finally, there will be a raffle for UKBGF members only, with a prize of two free lessons (via Skype) with a Grandmaster.
