After the outstanding performances of Team UK in taking the silver medal at the World Team Championship (on which subject, stay tuned for a subsequent post!), the Women’s team have their next outing online this weekend and are hoping to end a run of losing to other teams by the smallest possible margin each time! In doing so they’re taking on a Japan team for the first time. The format is three games per day starting at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm our time – the 8 hour time difference constrains us quite heavily – which means a complete round robin of all the teams of six, and there will be live coverage of selected games on the UKBGF’s Youtube channel on both Saturday and Sunday (commentary in English), and on the JBS Youtube channel (commentary in Japanese). You can also watch the games on Backgammon Galaxy; just search for the players’ nicknames on the site.
You can find live scores as they happen on the new team page – these will be updated regularly throughout the weekend.
