Four weeks of voting came to an end on Sunday night at 10pm, and the turnout exceeded two hundred and fifty players – many more than had been predicted, even by some of the candidates!
After careful scrutiny of all the votes I can declare the result as follows:
Total number of voter attempts was 264. Some of these were ineligible for a number of reasons including: duplicated submissions; overseas players who did not otherwise qualify; inadequate voter identification. After these were removed a total of 254 voting submissions were accepted. Some of these comprised votes for fewer than seven candidates – in some cases just a single candidate. Most were for the maximum of seven candidates. These votes were then converted to points in accordance with the previously announced formula, namely 1st place = 7 points; 2nd = 6 points; and so on down to 1 point for 7th place.
The resulting points totals and rankings for all the candidates are as follows:
Therefore the duly elected candidates are:
- Peter Bennet
- Sean Williams
- Raj Jansari
- Ian Tarr
- Jon Barnes
- Simon Morecroft
- Eric McAlpine
Thanks are due to all the candidates for taking the trouble to stand for election and congratulations to the seven successful candidates.
