We’re delighted to announce the schedule for the UKBGF Tour 2017, which you can find here. After a number of this year’s events were fully subscribed and with waiting lists for places, we’ve got a bigger schedule this time that also takes us to four more destinations across the country: Bradford, Winchester, Newcastle and Worcester. Do register early and make sure you don’t miss out on the ones you want!

With a bigger geographic spread there’s even more of you who now have a local tournament – I’m looking forward to meeting more new faces on our travels this year. And after plenty of feedback we’ve also revised the format of the Tour – to make it more competitive and encourage more people to take part:
- With 12 events in the tour, we’ll count your best 5 scores this time,
- You’ll score points for playing in Intermediate divisions,
- At tournaments with a single-elimination knockout with a progressive consolation, you can score points in the consolation – so one unlucky match won’t automatically give you a bad Tour score,
- And there will be a cap on the “attendance factor” so that scores from the largest single-division tournaments don’t dominate the rest unduly.
We’re always open to considering new ideas for the future and we hope you’ll let us know if you like the new Tour – or if you don’t!

Full details of the tournaments at the end of the year will be announced as they are finalised – keep an eye out on this blog, Facebook, Twitter and the regular members’ emails for more news as it happens.
Well done to those at UKBGF who have put time and effort into moving the tour forward after the learning curve of the first year.
The Blackpool Team are honoured to be part of the tour and with 90
pre entries for our tournament already we are sure it will be a great 3 days of backgammon.
Are you eligible for the £1000 bonus ?

Why not sign up and help us toward the 100 for Christmas 🙂
Hi Julia,
Just to let you know that the Bright N Breezy is at the Holiday Inn this year and not the Old Ship. I would be unhappy if anyone missed it.
Dexter
Thanks Dexter – we just wanted to make sure you were awake. Now corrected 🙂
