The UK Clubs Championship (UKCC) is one of the UKBGF’s flagship events. Instigated by Phil Tutchings in 2011, UKBGF involvement began in 2015. Apart from an enforced two-year ‘pandemic’ gap in the years 2020-2021 (when it was held online), the UKCC has become increasingly well-attended and generates a unique atmosphere not present at regular singles tournaments. The 2022 UKCC was part of the UK Festival of Backgammon held at the Liner Hotel, Liverpool in April 2022. More details on the Clubs Championship format can be found here and past winners are here.
In 2026, we are breaking new ground at the University of Kent at Canterbury, as part of a weekend of backgammon over the weekend of 25-26th July. On Saturday 25th July there will be two singles tournaments: one for Intermediates and one for Masters players, both limited to 48 players and with consolation and last chance flights. All are likely to be oversubscribed so do register as soon as you can.
Clubs Championship team members need not be UKBGF members, but the captain must be, and an additional registration fee of £10 applies for each non-member. If you are not yet a UKBGF member, click here to join or renew online now. If in doubt about whether your membership is still current, first check either the live or online ratings where members’ names are in bold (enter your name, or part of it, in the Filter box). If your name is not in bold and you think that you are a member, please email subscriptions@ukbgf.com for clarification.
