Both Masters and Intermediates will have room for 48 players. There will be a main knockout of 7 point matches (semi-final and final 9pt); all first and second round losers will then play in a Consolation knockout (7pt), and then a Last Chance knockout (5pt).
The cost is £15 registration fee plus £40 entry fee. 100% of entry fees are returned as prize money. There are optional side pools of £10, £20, £50 in the Masters and £10 in the Intermediates.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners and finalists of all three knockouts in both divisions, and the semi-finalists of the main knockout.
Trophies will be awarded to the winners and finalists of the Masters and Intermediates events. In addition, in the Intermediates there will be a special prize of two free lessons with a Grandmaster (via Skype) for the winners and finalists of the three knockouts, provided they are UKBGF members on the 31st July 2020.
There is ample free parking – car parks 6.1 (Campus South) and 6.2 (Campus West) are the closest to the Exhibition Centre. Click here for an interactive map of York University showing the Campus West car park.
We have secured an allocation of rooms for the night of Saturday 15th August on the York University campus at £46.20 per person including breakfast, plus a small number of rooms for the nights of Friday 14th and Sunday 16th August at the same rate. These rooms are available for players who are entering either the individual event on Saturday or the team event on Sunday, or both. In view of the present COVID-19 uncertainty we advise players not to make firm accommodation bookings just yet. An announcement and link to secure low cost rooms will be made nearer the time.
