As part of the UKBGF’s initiative to boost the number of players competing in the Backgammon World Championship in Monte Carlo, there are now three players who have won their way through satellites organised by Chris Rogers and who will have their flights, entry, registration fees and accommodation costs covered for the 2026 contest: Andrew Selby, Oliver Squire and Damon Dennis (pictured above).
Attention is now turning to the Intermediate flight.
I shall shortly open an online satellite event for intermediate players who are UK residents/citizens who are UKBGF members. The entry fee will be £65 with 100% paid out to the winner of the satellite to be used for the Backgammon World Championship Intermediate Division. Last year, Fabricio Cardoso (pictured below) won a 32-player satellite and went on to win the Intermediate Consolation event at Monte-Carlo. He and his family enjoyed the trip immensely!

Already, 24 players have expressed an interest however I need 32 to make it viable. If you’re interested in taking part, please email me at: martin@ukbgf.com
The 4th satellite for the Championship division is already underway. Any UK players with hopes of being the next World Champion should email Chris Rogers. His email address is: chrisrogers72@yahoo.co.uk
