Thank you to everyone who helped make the UKBGF London Open 2015 such a huge success. We had over 120 players competing for a total prize pot in excess of £25,000 in the best backgammon venue in the country in the heart of one of the world’s great cities. We will be back bigger and better next year. Start thinking about booking your place now!

Already looking forward to next year,
The UKBGF Team
Now that the dust has settled after the London Open, we have gained one set of precision dice (boxed, with doubling cube), but lost two of the Hippodrome’s backgammon boards. If anyone can shed any light on either, please email me at peter@ukbgf.com
WOW ! What a great weekend of Backgammon all down to the UKBGF. I was in my element. West End, Fantastic Venue, Great Food, Good Coffee, Great Players with Colourful Personalities and above all, the game with all it’s Drama, Anticipation, Frustration, Exhilaration, the list goes on………Poker Players you don’t know what your missing ! Come and play the Real Deal ! But only if you’ve got what it takes !
Any chance we can make this a weekly event LOL !!!
Great venue, great turnout, great atmosphere, great crowd, attentive Hippodrome staff and good food.
The UKBGF really saved this event and even some top players decided to forego entering the tournament to ensure the smooth running of the event.
My £40.00 premium membership of the UKBGF was money WELL SPENT, (unlike my £50 in the Hippodrome Cup, 9-1 loss to Peter Christmas in the first round, ouch!!)
Once again, well done guys AND gals!!
Thank you so much Sean, Raj, Peter and the rest of your team for your priceless effort to organise and running the LO. I am sure putting back this tournament together just couple of weeks ago was almost next to impossible. But you made it. I am so proud to be a participant in this competition.
Well done guys 🙂
Aref
Thanks so much to Sean, Peter, Raj and helpers for a really great weekend! It was frankly incredible what you all managed to achieve at such short notice.
Everything seemed to run without a hitch and the attention to little details that just put the icing on the cake (excuse the pun) were remarkable.
It was an extremely courageous undertaking, by the 3 of you and I am sure many will agree with me, that all of your efforts were worthwhile. If the UKBGF had not been in existence, I don’t think this would have been possible.
Hollie did a brilliant job with the UKBGF branding and the UKBGF branded birthday cake was a very thoughtful (and tasty) touch. Your 2 recorders (apologies I cannot remember names) did an excellent job with a happy, friendly demeanour throughout the whole weekend.
I hope that the books balance favourably in the end.
Big pat on the back to you all.
Tim
Can it not clash with the Army v Navy rugby match at Twickenham next year PLEASE!!!! ;))))
Great job everyone….
I am sure I am not on my own in being very grateful to Sean and the rest of the UKBGF Committee who rescued this event at very short notice, yet somehow managed to organise, at speed, an excellent tournament. The arrangements, venue, facilities and tournament direction were a credit to all of the team who worked very hard throughout the weekend to ensure some terrific play was enjoyed by all. This bodes very well indeed for the future of the newly created UKBGF which has got off to a flying start, with no blunders and plenty of equity. Well done and thanks again.
