Well! What a year it’s been at Nottingham.

We’ve seen a magnificent growth in membership with our League now having 32 players. If you’re tired of playing online and looking for a face-to-face game come down to the Lion at Basford on a Monday evening where there’s always someone to play. It’s a great, traditional, cosy pub with an open fire in winter and a spacious garden with ample decking for those long summer backgammon evenings.
Our resident IT guru Paul Cookson has created a new website where players and visitors can track their progress in the League and find out more about our club.

For the very first time we entered teams for the UKBGF Teams event at York in July. It was great opportunity for our club to mingle with the wider backgammon community and sample a tournament atmosphere.

It was our third annual trip to Tenerife earlier this month where we travelled to warmer climes and swapped our winter woolly’s for shorts and tee-shirts. Mark Fradley from 10BC, Tenerife backgammon club organised a mini tournament whilst we’re there. We’re pleased to report that our very own Nick Dawson scooped the trophy in the sunshine of Los Cristianos.
We’re super excited about our forthcoming our UK invitational Tournament in March 2025. It’s not too late to apply, although we are expecting a full complement of 64 who will battle it out over the weekend of 15/16th March to become The Robin Hood Open Champion.

Our Facebook and Instagram accounts have seen more visitors then ever. Please give us a “Like” and keep abreast of what’s happening in our club.
A very Happy New Year to all our backgammon friends – may your dice be kind to you.
