Monte Carlo Masters place up for grabs – Inters asked to express interest:
We are pleased to announce a repeat of the exciting initiative to boost the number of UK and Irish players at Monte Carlo 2026, which is the brainchild of UK captain Chris Rogers. Chris has been the last remaining Brit over the last three years (4th , 9th and quarter finalist respectively).
The UKBGF is also hoping to run a second, parallel satellite for intermediates.
Fabricio Cardoso won a place at Monte Carlo at the first intermediates’ satellite (see blog article on January 26).
If there is sufficient interest, I shall run a second Intermediate satellite. The winner of that will have their entry and registration fees paid for the Intermediate event at Monte Carlo as well as a contribution towards other expenses.
The UKBGF’s quest to promote the first British world champion continues apace.
On Saturday (March 1) @ 2pm, two of our finest players – Reece Hodges and Steven Atkinson – face off on the Hub platform to win the third satellite for the World Championships in Monte Carlo. The winner joins Ian Gwynne and Geoff Hall (pictured), winners of the first two satellites.

Chris Rogers’ term as UK captain extended by one year
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Geoff Hall as the captain of the UK online team. Chris Rogers remains the captain for the team taking part in the WBIF World Team Championship where our players have achieved an outstanding average PR of 2.86 at the time of writing.
However, Geoff will take over following completion of this event and for the Magriel Cup taking place this weekend. Geoff, noted for his flamboyant shirts, has served as a UKBGF board member, is a past winner of the Gibraltar Open and delivered a comfortable victory in the recent online friendly match against Germany.
