We are coming to the conclusion of another exciting and competitive UKBGF Tour in 2024. Many of the Top 16 places in both the Masters & Intermediate Tours are known and those players will receive an invitation to the Tour Winners Invitational (TWI) event in January 2025. However, a number of places are still up for grabs in the final tour event of the year The Players Championship in London. Quite remarkably, three players have won two events each, so there will be plenty of points-based TWI entries this year.

We have some exciting new Tour events in 2025 plus the regular established excellent tournaments. We welcome the Scottish Open, Harrogate Open, Worcestershire Open, Newcastle Intermediates, and Brighton January Intermediate & Masters events.

Tour Changes for 2025
For the Masters Tour, we will have 6 Major tournaments where the winners receive an invite to the Tour Winners Invitational (TWI) event. All other Tour tournaments will no longer provide a TWI invitation. All Tour events will continue to award Tour Points based on player’s performance.
The motivation for this change is that it allows us to expand the number of Tour events in future years without having to increase the number of places at the TWI. An increase to TWI places would of course incur additional costs to the UKBGF.
With 16 Masters places available at the TWI, this change would mean that 6 players gain an invite and the remaining 10 places are awarded to the highest Tour scorers. Of course, a player who wins an event scores significant Tour points and makes them highly likely to obtain a TWI invite. This change will also benefit players who regularly attend and perform well at Tour events.
The Intermediate Tour will remain unchanged and all winners of Intermediate events will still receive a TWI invite assuming they are UKBGF members.
Tour Scoring
In 2025 players will be able to count their Top 6 tour Scores, 1 more than the current Top 5 scores allowed. Once again this is to reflect the increased number of events. This change would apply to both Masters and Intermediate tours.
Intermediate Tour Information
Players eligible to join Intermediate Events must have an average UKBGF Rating of less than 1600. A player’s average rating is calculated by averaging their 12 month-end ratings Nov 30th 2023 – Oct 31st 2024.
Players who are NOT eligible to play in Intermediate events in 2025 are listed here
Intermediate players need to be aware if they play in an Intermediate event that means they can only score Intermediate Tour points for 2025. They will not be able to accrue Masters Tour points in the 2025 Tour. Therefore, if you plan to compete in the 2025 Masters Tour you must not play in any Intermediate event.
