Voting is now open to all UKBGF members in the elections to form the UKBGF Board for the two year period 2025-6. You will need to vote before midnight on Sunday 13th October 2024, and in order to vote you will need to specify the email account you used to register with the UKBGF. All members should have been emailed a link to the voting form; if you haven’t received it then just drop us a line at contact@ukbgf.com in good time.
There are twelve candidates, of whom seven will be elected. Voting is by ranked choice – that is, you will be asked to place the twelve candidates in order of preference and points will be awarded to each according to their position in your selection. The highest scoring candidate from each of the three regions: London & South East (S), Midlands, Wales & West (W), North, Scotland & Northern Ireland (N) plus the four next highest scoring from any region, will be elected. The candidates are, in alphabetical order of surname:
- Martin Barkwill (N)
- Tiberiu Bostan (S)
- John Georgiou (W)
- Keith Gill (N)
- Julia Hayward (S)
- Liviu Ionescu (S)
- Elmar Janahmadov (S)
- Kevin Jones (N)
- Sean Jones (W)
- Tony Lezard (S)
- Andrew Selby (S)
- Karen Slawek (N)
Each of the candidates has submitted a statement of why you should elect them, and you can find them here. Statements from 2022 are also available on the UKBGF website.
We’d like to thank the Board members who will be retiring at the end of the year for all their hard work over the last two years. The results will be announced as soon as votes are scrutinised and counted. which should be in good time for the AGM on the evening of the 28th November, 7.30pm – the AGM will be open to all members via video call, where you can put questions to both outgoing and incoming Boards, and we will send out a link nearer the time.
Apologies if it has been highlighted somewhere, but do you have to vote for all twelve on the voting form, therefore perhaps giving votes to candidates when you prefer not to.
Thanks John
Yes, you need to sort all 12 candidates into order of preference.
I would like to vote for Martin Barkwill (N) and Julia Hayward (S).
For Martin : he update us with photos of players in every events, it is fun and nice to see other players who I’ve never met.
