With just 3 tournaments remaining, the final TWI places are still being keenly contested.
In the Masters division, barring BG miracles, Radu Ciortan looks certain to win the UKBGF Tour and is already priming himself for a defence of his TWI title. 2 guaranteed places are up for grabs at the upcoming Brian Lever Memorial tournament in Manchester in November, and the Players Championship London in December. In particular, the final 2 spots in the points race look up for grabs with last years Tour winner Rachel Rhodes clinging on along with Rich Carter in 15th and 16th place respectively.

In an even closer race, the Intermediate division has the last 5 qualifying places separated by only 15 points! The likes of Aniel Ciobanu, John Bass, Jay Hayter, Michele de Havilland and Steve Allott will all be nervously looking over their shoulders at the remaining events. 2 more guaranteed places to be won for the finalists of the upcoming Worcester Intermediates tournament and plenty of points up for grabs in the remaining 3 tour events before final qualifying is decided. Kudos to Merrin Rose for another outstanding year but the tour title is not quite sealed – although it will take something special to deny her.

A few spaces are still available at the Brian Lever event, for anyone interested. Please note: Players MUST be UKBGF members before the start of any tournament to qualify.

Rachel and Richard Carter are 11th and 12th, not 15th and 16th.
I *think* it’s because there’s 16 places in the TWI finals, the 11 winners of the tour events, then after these it’s the 5 highest scoring players without a win (or 6 players now as Radu won twice). Rachel and Richard currently have the last two qualifying spots, from that perspective.
I’ve been a UKBGF member since early days! Been representing the U.K. national team also for a while!
What I don’t get is to why UKBGF are determined to exploit every opportunity to eliminate me from the Tour? My whole intention of playing/winning Cambridge was to get a ticket to the Tour!
Is that a valid reason to eliminate a player for having his credit card expired and his membership lapsed for two weeks?
You only make yourselves look ridiculous! Keep it up
