In less than a week many of you will be taking the annual trip to Blackpool to battle it out for the Imperial Cup.
Those of you who have entered should have,in the past couple of days, received an email with lots of important information to digest, please take a few minutes out to read it as there are some important changes this year.
First of all, a big thank you to the 102 players who attended the Blackpool Imperial Cup this weekend helping to make it such a successful event. We are proud to be able to say it is now the biggest single flight tournament in the UK, with players from Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Ireland and Singapore making the journey to join us.
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
We would like to highlight our offer to any beginners or intermediates who don’t normally play in national tournaments. UKBGF members who fit this description can play at our event for just £10. This will allow you entry into not just the main event but also the Fylde and Washington trophy events and Freerolls. You will also, at extra cost, be able to enter all of the side events. If you are a non member the cost for this offer is £20.
Masayuki Mochizuki (Mochy), perhaps the strongest backgammon player in the world, has kindly invited us to reproduce his recent bear off seminar here on the UKBGF blog. Mochy gave this presentation over the weekend at the Merit Open 2013 in Cyprus, and it is our pleasure to share it here with our readers.
Mochy, who declared the formation of the UKBGF great news for the backgammon community, can be followed on Twitter here.
