The climax of the 2025 UKBGF Tour was held at Macclesfield’s Shrigley Hall at the weekend, with a whole bevvy of winners and a tournament for the top 32 players taking part in the Tour Winners Invitational.
The weekend of intense backgammon was kicked off with presentations of glassware to the players who finished in the top three of the Tour rankings in both the Masters and Intermediates flights.
A predictably super Brighton Open kicked off with the postponed final of December’s London Players’ Championship between Anna Price and David Brown, which also benefitted from being live-streamed and you can watch here. [Read more…]
The 2024-5 UKBGF Charity Challenge drew to a close just before Christmas after a gruelling 21 rounds and nearly a year’s worth of play behind us. The trio of Dominic Murgia, Adrian Jones and Krzysztof Cebula played each other to settle the final places and the destination of both side pools and a copy of “Back Checker Strategy”; the final match played was Dominic v Adrian and it turned out to be a very fitting affair, swinging back and forth right through to the DMP game and even that went to the last roll of the bearoff before Dominic took the title.
